Expelled French reporter’s flight leaves China

December 31, 2015

Expelled French reporter Ursula Gauthier’s flight out of China took off early Friday, data showed, after Beijing forced her to leave following her criticism of government policy in violence-wracked, mainly Muslim Xinjiang.

Air France flight 381, bound for Paris, took off at 01:17 local time (1717 GMT), Beijing airport’s live flight information page showed. Gauthier earlier told AFP she was on board.
