Turkey’s Twitter Generation is its Future

This blog highlighted on Friday June 28 Turkey’s deficit in media freedom under the title ‘Turkey’s Use of Counter-terrorism Law to Stifle Media.’ In today’s posting are two links to articles that appear in Open Democracy examining the role of the media in relation to larger issues of democratic governance. In particular they draw attention to social media, and how the opponents of democracy try to stifle it while its proponents use it to publicise their message.
